Daniel Doyle, 1939-2014

Memorial services for Daniel “Dan” C. Doyle, 75, of Fairmont will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Lakeview Funeral Home chapel in Fairmont, with inurnment in St. Olaf Cemetery in Odin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Lakeview Funeral Home. Dan passed away Nov. 18, 2014, at his home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is in charge of arrangements.

Daniel Charles Doyle was born Oct. 22, 1939, in Walnut Lake Township. He was the son of Omer and Mary Alice (Temple) Doyle. He received his education in Wells public schools and graduated from Wells High School in 1957. After high school Dan enlisted in the Army. When he returned from the service he went on to further his education in Mankato.

On Sept. 25, 1965, Dan was united in marriage to Jean Mathistad in Mankato. The couple resided in Albert Lea where Dan worked as an accountant for Wilson & Co. Dan and Jean later moved to Welcome, where Dan worked for Eagle Engineering and Manufacturing until the business closed. Dan and Jean shared over 34 years together before Jean passed away on Dec. 28, 1999. Dan then moved to Fairmont and enjoyed watching sports including the Vikings.

Left to cherish his memory includes his son, Michael Doyle, of Albert Lea; brother, Bob Doyle, and his wife, Rose, of Easton; sister, Rita Neubauer, and her husband, Robert, of Wells; sister-in-law, Dawn Doyle, of Easton; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Along with his parents Omer and Mary Alice Doyle, Dan was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean Doyle; and brother, Frank Doyle.
