Chrissy Monson’s 1600-meter time of 5:02.58 broke the school record Saturday at the state meet in St. Paul. The previous record holder: Chrissy Monson.

This is the third time Monson has broke the school record in the 1600 as she ran a faster time each time her level of competition rose.

Monson first set a school record at the Big Nine meet May 28 with a time of 5:08.04. She went on to run a 5:05.33 at the Section 1AA meet June 5 before setting the current record Saturday in a sixth place finish at state.

Monson also holds the school record in the 3200-meter with a 10:49.61.
