Knights win 4th straight game

The Alden-Conger boys’ basketball team already has more than half of its win total from last season, and the Knights showed no signs of letting up.
The Knights (4-0 overall) shot over 50 percent from the field and beat Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf 70-52 Friday at the Cleveland tournament.
Eli Hallman led Alden-Conger with 30 points. It’s his third performance with 25 points or more on the season. Not only does Hallman lead the team in scoring, he leads the team by shooting 57 percent from the field. Hallman has made a team-high 11-of-21 from 3-point range.
Dylan Lein led the Knights on the block with 14 points and six rebounds. Jacob Wallin and Jordan Hallman led Alden-Conger on the glass with 14 rebounds each. Colton Opsahl had 10 points and had five steals.
The game was Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf’s season opener. The Trojans were 12-10 last season.
Next, Alden-Conger will host Martin County West at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Mavericks (0-1 overall) are coming off a 63-57 home loss on Monday against Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop. Last season, Martin County West was 12-12 and won 60-24 at home against Alden-Conger.
