Lois Emrud, 1940-2014

The funeral service for Lois Jean Emrud will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Faith Lutheran Church, 308 Second St. NW in Dodge Center, with the Rev. Barbara Streed officiating. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Carlston Cemetery near Alden.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at Czaplewski Family Funeral Home, 25 South St. SW in Dodge Center, and one hour before the service at the church on Friday.
Lois Jean Emrud, 74, of Dodge Center passed away Saturday, Nov. 29, 2014, at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids.
Lois was born Feb. 28, 1940, the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Heimdal) Severson in Forest City. She graduated from Forest City High School in 1959 and attended Mankato Business College.
Lois was united in marriage to Lowell Emrud July 16, 1960, in Forest City. She was a nurse’s aid at Fairview Nursing Home and worked part time at In Town Greenhouse for 20 years, and at Barlow Hy-Vee for seven years.
Lois was very involved in her community. She was in community choir, church choir, the Lois Club of Rochester, Home Extension Club, Sons of Norway, Home Council as secretary, Wow Bible Study Group, Monday Musical, Nursing Home Auxiliary as past president and funeral coordinator at Faith Lutheran Church for 16 years.
Lois is survived by her husband, Lowell Emrud, of Dodge Center; children Brad (Sue) Emrud of Poplar Grove, Ill., Steven (Sherrie) Emrud of Milaca, Barbara (Dave) Bruemmer of Ramsey; and nine grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Family prefers memorials to Faith Lutheran Church in Dodge Center.
