The two men arrested Friday after a high-speed chase that started in Worth County, Iowa, and ended in Freeborn County have been charged in Worth County District Court with felony theft.

According to court records, David Allan Freeman, 41, and Travis James Jordan, 38, both of Marshalltown, Iowa, each face one count of second-degree felony theft. Freeman and Jordan allegedly were driving a white Dodge Ram pickup stolen from Marshalltown during the pursuit.

The pursuit ended in Freeman Township. As of Monday morning, no charges had been filed for fleeing the authorities.

According to reports, a Worth County Sheriff’s Office deputy was on patrol late Thursday when a truck reported stolen by the Marshalltown Police Department was found in the Diamond Jo Casino parking lot.

After contacting surveillance to check the camera parking lot footage, the deputy contacted an Iowa Division of Criminal Apprehension agent at the casino. He asked the agent to check the footage to find out about the pickup.

A short time later, court records state, the two men came out of the casino, got into the pickup and drove off.

The deputy attempted to stop the truck; however, the driver did not stop. A high-speed chase ensued.

The truck drove up Wheelerwood Road — the blacktop adjacent to the casino — and into Minnesota.

The chase ended in Freeborn County after the vehicle left the roadway and went into a field a half a mile north of Stateline Road and one mile east of 735th Avenue, where the two men reportedly fled on foot.

A Minnesota State Patrol helicopter ultimately found the two men, who were reportedly hiding in a shed.

Freeman and Jordan were being held in the Freeborn County jail and will have to be extradited to Iowa to face the charges.
