Olive Christenson, 94, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Olive June Christenson, 94, of Albert Lea, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church. The Rev. Tom Biatek will officiate. Olive died Monday, April 18, 2011, at Good Samaritan Society.

Christenson

Olive June Christenson was born on July 6, 1916, in St. Paul. She lived with her grandmother Anna Kaus in Austin and later with Violet Heslip. Olive graduated from Austin High School in 1935. She was employed as a bookkeeper at Sears, Montgomery Ward and Weyerhaeuser. Olive was married to John Lickteig in Austin. Together they had one daughter. They later divorced. In 1970 Olive married Roger Christenson. Olive was a member of United Methodist Church where she was active in circle and UMW. She enjoyed making crafts, jelly and she loved being a homemaker. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Lois (Jim) Goodnature; grandchildren: Mark (Kim) Goodnature and Michele (Brad) Norton; great-grandchildren: Samantha Norton, Derek Norton, David Goodnature and one on the way; great-great-grandchildren: Jaylynn and Jack; sister, Arlene Novotny; and her children: Sue and Steve.

Olive was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger.
