The NFL is still locked out but the Minnesota Vikings announced their 2011 schedule Tuesday which begins August 13 with a preseason game against the Tennessee Titans.

The Vikings kick off the regular season at 3:15 on Sept. 11 at the San Diego Chargers. The Vikings last opened against the Chargers in 1984 and haven’t played since 2007 in Minneapolis when Adrian Peterson set an NFL single-game rushing record with 297 yards.

The Vikings’ two night games are on the road against divisional rivals Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers. The Vikings play the Bears at 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 17 and Packers at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 on ESPN’s Monday Night Football. The Vikings hold a 4-3 advantage over the Packers on MNF.

Other notable games include a matchup against Kansas City on Oct. 10 at Arrowhead Stadium where the Vikings haven’t won since 1974, and a game against Atlanta on Nov. 27 at the Georgia Dome. This will be the first time Vikings newly appointed offensive coordinator Bill Musgrave faces his former team.

The Vikings play the 2009 Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints for the third time in three seasons on Dec. 18 at Mall of America Field. The Vikings are 12-2 all-time against the Saints in Minnesota.

The Vikings will also look to continue their dominance against the Detroit Lions this season. The Vikings host the Lions on Sept. 25 and play in Detroit on Dec. 11. The Vikings haven’t lost to the Lions in Minneapolis since 1997 and have won 15 of 17 in Detroit.
