A.L. man arrested after officers search apartment

A 31-year-old Albert Lea man was arrested Tuesday after the South Central Drug Investigation and other local officers executed a search warrant on an apartment on South Washington Avenue.
According to a news release issued Wednesday, Michael Batten was arrested for fifth-degree possession of marijuana. He is expected to appear in Freeborn County District Court today to be charged.
The release states the search warrant was conducted at a house on South Washington Avenue at 2:10 p.m. Tuesday.
Officers reportedly found nine separate bags of marijuana, several marijuana pipes, digital scales, drug paraphernalia, $390 in cash and three marijuana plants growing in the window.
When the search warrant was executed, the two renters and a friend were home.
