Semi driver arrested for DWI

Police arrested John Edd Cox, 48, of Dallas, Georgia, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated after receiving a report of semi driver who had sent in a distress alarm. The distress call stated the semi was on Albert Lea Lake, but police later found it stuck in a ditch behind Trail’s Travel Center. When they made contact with Cox, they found out he had been drinking. In addition to being arrested for driving while intoxicated, he is expected to be cited for a commercial vehicle log book violation.

Albert Lea police cited Brian Ralph McCune, 47, for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop at 6:39 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Sorensen Road and U.S. Highway 65.
