ELLENDALE — The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva softball team could only muster two hits Thursday on a cold afternoon and lost 7-0 to the Maple River Eagles (3-0, 1-0 Valley).

Tara Simon (1-for-2) and Kacie Phillips (1-for-3) were the only Panthers to record a hit.

The Panthers (4-2, 3-0 Gopher) play again at 5 p.m. Monday against United South Central (2-2, 2-2) at home.
