Bad economy will keep on going

Data from the Census Bureau shows that from January 2000 to March of 2010, 13.1 million legal and illegal immigrants settled in the United States. During that same period, the U.S. suffered a net loss of 1 million jobs. With 15 million Americans officially unemployed (a figure which doesn’t include millions more who have given up looking for work, or who can only find part-time work), our government has made no effort to stem the flow of working-age legal immigrants and temporary visa holders, now totaling more than 1 million per year.

In spite of government claims that the economy is improving, the Los Angeles Times (Nov. 24, 2010) reported a forecast from the Federal Reserve that U.S. unemployment will remain about where it is now through next year, and, in the words of the Times, “stay high for years to come.”
