The Big Freeze was Feb. 1 at Albert Lea City Arena, Edgewater Bay Pavilion and on Fountain Lake. Along with a full day of hockey at Albert Lea City Arena, the event featured an ice plunge, ice fishing, a chili cookoff, disc golf tournament, snowshoe shuffle, medallion hunt, geocaching bingo, horse-drawn wagon and tractor rides and other activities.
