FOREST CITY, Iowa — Baccalaureate and commencement for Waldorf College is Saturday.
The baccalaureate will start at 10:30 a.m. and will be presided over by Steve Smith, Waldorf assistant professor and chairman of religion and philosophy.
Commencement exercises begin at 2 p.m. at Hanson Fieldhouse. During the exercises, 109 students will receive bachelor’s degrees while three will receive associate degrees.
The keynote speaker will be Jody Dosser, a recent inductee into the Waldorf Athletic Hall of Fame.
Dosser, a 1971 Waldorf graduate, began her coaching career at the high school level after graduating from Mankato State University. During her 27 years as head volleyball coach at Osage High School Dosser compiled 17 North Iowa Conference titles and had 10 teams advance to the state tournament.
Dosser returned to Waldorf College as the head volleyball coach in 2001. During 2007, she led the Waldorf volleyball team to the Midwest Collegiate Conference title.
For the past several years she has been heavily involved in organ donation awareness and has worked with such groups as Donate Life, a national organization that advocates organ, eye and tissue donation.
