ng Saturday afternoon behind the Emmons Fire Station. The Emmons Fire Department recently acquired a grain bin rescue tube through donations from Poet Glenville, Five Star Cooperative, Northern Country Co-op and Land O’Lakes. The device allows the firefighters to remove corn or grain around a person who may be stuck in a grain bin and then the person climbs or is lifted out through the top of the tube. – Sarah Stultz/Albert Lea Tribune
Firefighters practice using the grain bin rescue tube during training from Safety & Security Consultation Specialists out of Minnesota Lake on Saturday. The company has a piece of equipment filled with small plastic pieces that simulate corn. The firefighters practiced saving someone who had fallen into the plastic pieces. – Sarah Stultz/Albert Lea Tribune
