The Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce announced that Mark Lanterman, chief technology officer of Computer Forensic Services, is returning to Albert Lea for a seminar on protecting people’s most sensitive information, according to a press release.

Lanterman will revisit the question of how information is accessed or stolen and what happens to it when it is. Small businesses and their employees are not immune to cyber attacks, and employees may be at increased risk for personal security breaches. For example, Google only accesses 14 percent of the web.

In an effort to inform the attendees of the most recent developments in the digital underground, as well as provide realistic advice for cyber protection, Lanterman will once again discuss recent high profile cyber-crime events, including website breaches impacting retailers, banks, Hollywood and government agencies. He will also discuss dangerous types of threats that might affect individuals such as phishing, malware and Wi-Fi attacks.

The seminar will from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 13 at Wedgewood Cove. Lunch is included and the cost is $25. If three or more from one company attend, the cost is $22. Those interested can register by calling 507-373-3938 or email alfccoc@albertlea.org.
