Come say farewell to Nat. Guard unit

When we learned that the Albert Lea National Guard was being deployed, Bill Vosler came to me and suggested that we have a farewell party for them.
He is bringing the Alley Katz 10-piece band at no cost. Church Offset Printing did the tickets and posters at no cost. It will be at the local armory on May 7 from 7 to 11 p.m. It turns out that a huge group of local volunteers are organizing a project called Beyond the Yellow Ribbon.
This is made up of volunteers that are willing to assist families of deployed service members, not just national guard, but any service. They are in need of initial funding, so all the proceeds from May 7 will go to them, and, believe me, it’s a worthwhile cause now that we have so many people serving our country everywhere, please would you try your best to come out for this?
Show our support to all the dedicated people. This is a chance to hear good music, some short speeches and shake some hands of your neighbors. Tickets are available at Nelson, Hy-Vee, Hallmark, Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce and CVB in the Northbridge Mall. They are only $10. Want them delivered? Just call 373-9059.
