The Sons of Norway Normanna Lodge No. 52 of Albert Lea has awarded two $2,000 scholarships.  Having received eight applications, recipients Karl A. Schlick of Port Angels, Washington, who is attending St. Olaf College in Northfield; and Tate C. Nelson of Pelican Rapids, who is attending Concordia College in Moorhead, were selected.

The scholarships are awarded annually to a student who has completed two or more years of college, shows an interest in Scandinavian studies and maintains a 3.5 grade point average on a scale of 4.0.

Arlene Matson is the Normanna Lodge scholarship chairwoman.
