Motorcyclist loses control of bike and slides 400 ft.
A 44-year-old Lake Mills man was injured Saturday night after he reportedly lost control of his motorcycle in rural Leland, Iowa.
Jeremy Chad Riles was transported by Mercy Air Med helicopter to Mercy Medical Center — North Iowa in Mason City for injuries. His condition this morning is unknown.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Riles was riding a 1997 Harley-Davidson eastbound on Winnebago County Road A-38 near 190th Avenue when he lost control of the motorcycle for an unknown reason and slid about 400 feet. The crash took place at 8:06 p.m.
The initial report does not indicate if Riles was wearing a helmet.
The Iowa State Patrol was also assisted at the scene by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, Forest City Ambulance and Forest City Fire Department.
