Albert Lea senior bowlers Bree Tlamka, bottom, and Corissa Freeman were honored at the conclusion of the season. Tlamka was the South Central Conference girls’ Player of the Year. She was a First Team All-State and First Team All-Conference selection and third in the state with an 87 percent fill ratio. Freeman was a Second Team All-Conference selection and was ranked 50th in the state with a 75 percent fill ratio. — Provided
The Albert Lea High School girls’ bowling team earned a berth in the state tournament for the fifth consecutive season. From left are Tiffany Hallisy, Bree Tlamka, Corissa Freeman, Makena Hall, Hannah Senne, Rachel Reichland and Angela Reikens. Through 14 games at the state tournament, the team averaged a score of 172. During the season, Albert Lea averaged a score of 164. The team finished 13th out of 16 teams at the state tournament. Albert Lea was second in the South Central Conference with a 12-2 record, which was fifth in the state with a total of 42 teams. In the previous four years, Albert Lea finished in the top five at state. The team was fourth last year, fifth in 2013, first in 2012 and second in 2011. — Provided
