MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Twins are reinstating right-handed pitcher Tim Stauffer from the disabled list.
Stauffer missed 19 games because of a right intercostal strain. The Twins said Thursday that he’ll be back from his rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester in time for Friday’s game in Chicago.
Stauffer made four rehab appearances for the Red Wings, pitching five innings with three earned runs.
To make room for Stauffer, the Twins have optioned infielder Doug Bernier to Rochester.
