BALSAM LAKE, Wis. — A judge has ruled that bond-violation charges can proceed to trial against a Minnesota man accused in a fatal stabbing along the St. Croix River.

Prosecutors said 19-year-old Levi Acre Kendall violated his bond by posting messages on Twitter, including telling people who are praying for him to also keep the victim’s family in mind. The Polk County judge ruled Thursday that there was probable cause to go ahead with two counts of felony bail-jumping.

Acre-Kendall has pleaded not guilty to first-degree reckless homicide in the death of 34-year-old Peter Kelly. Authorities said he stabbed Kelly in the chest after an argument along the river in April.

An attorney for Acre-Kendall  said that his client had no intention to violate the terms of his bail.
