Phyllis Mundale, 1922-2015

Funeral services for Phyllis Mundale, 92, of Albert Lea will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ascension Lutheran Church. The Revs. Mark Boorsma and Bill Ashpole will officiate. Interment will be at Alden Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.
Phyllis died Friday, June 5, 2015, at Good Samaritan Society of Albert Lea.
Phyllis Mundale was born Aug. 12, 1922, to Chris and Clara (Hovland) Mundale. She grew up in Alden and attended Albert Lea High School and Alden High School. Phyllis graduated in 1941. Phyllis worked at Café Don’l and later at Good Samaritan Society in the laundry department. She lived on the family farm near Alden for many years until her health declined. Phyllis then moved to Just Like Home in Albert Lea.
She was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden and a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Phyllis had a strong faith and lived her life according to that faith. Phyllis enjoyed all types of animals and loved her dogs.
Survivors include her sister, Bonnie Lou (Bill) Ashpole; niece, Brenda Macon; nephews Bryan (Shirley) Ashpole, Bradley Ashpole and Brent (Bobbie) Ashpole; great-nieces and great-nephews Josiah, Jocelyn, James, Stephen, Brooke, Kristen (Nathaniel), Stephanie, Caleb and Dennis; and great-great-niece, Lily.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Jean Mundale, Dawn (Ken) Barney and Carmen Mundale; brother-in-law, Mervin Michaelson; and nephew, Dennis Ashpole.
