DULUTH — U.S. Sen. Al Franken said he has gotten several complaints that the Postal Service’s rerouting of mail is causing lengthy delays in northeast Minnesota.
According to a press release, Franken sent a letter to the postmaster general, asking that the Postal Service discontinue its mail rerouting from northeast Minnesota to the Twin Cities.
Franken said constituents have told him that newspapers are being delivered 10 days late, and that people are getting medicine that is already expired.
According to a statement, Postal Service spokesman Peter Nowacki said that the postal organization is “continually working to improve efficiencies.” He said customers should report delivery issues to the Postal Service.
