With the weather warming up I just want to remind motorists on the road to watch for bicyclists, also. Bicycles have the same rights on the roads as motorists. I have almost been ran over a few times already this summer because cars are cutting me off. I had to slam on my brakes which is pretty hard to do on a bike! I’ve biked downtown Minneapolis and felt safer than I do here in Albert Lea! I have a 14-year-old child, and I get nervous just thinking about him riding his bike around here. Please, people, be aware of bicyclists too. This town claims to be all about Blue Zones, but when someone tries to ride a bike they get nearly ran off the road or worse — ran over!
