ST. PAUL — A St. Paul man is accused of threatening to kill his sister with a knife and breaking merchandise in her store in Hmongtown Marketplace.
A criminal complaint said 47-year-old Chue Ly jumped on the counter of his sister’s shop Saturday, knocked over four TVs and a stack of movies. It said he yelled at his sister and asked her if she wanted to die while holding an open-blade knife.
Prosecutors said Ly also ran at his brother-in-law with the knife and crowbar in hand and threatened to kill him. The complaint said Ly also slashed the tires of two vehicles in the marketplace parking lot.
The defendant’s sister said her brother is homeless and frequents her shop to beg for money and food. It was not immediately clear if Ly had an attorney.
