Mother, child shot and wounded in south Minn.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police said a woman and her young daughter were wounded in a crossfire shooting on the city’s south side.

The shooting was reported at 2 p.m. Thursday at Peavey Park.

The mother, who is in her 20s, was walking in the park, and the toddler was in a stroller when they were both shot. Police said they were not the intended targets.

Police said both the mother and child are hospitalized in stable condition.

No one has been arrested, and police said they have no suspect description.

In a statement, Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges said she is “outraged” by the shooting.
