Area students receive Mayo Clinic scholarship

Seven area high school seniors interested in pursuing an education in health care received the $1,000 Mayo Clinic Health System of Albert Lea and Austin scholarship. Cassandra Gilster and Jessica Price of Alden-Conger High School and Kimball Blake, Krista Davis, Tori Helgeson, Emily Ortiz and Taylor Willis of Albert Lea High School were the seven local recipients. The scholarships were awarded based on leadership, commitment, character and academic ability.

 

NIACC announces dean’s list 

One local North Iowa Community College student was named to the spring dean’s list for the academic year of 2014-2015. Barbara Erickson is one of the 634 individuals to complete a minimum of six semester hours and earn a 3.25-3.49 grade point average.
