- The Albert Lea U13 boys’ soccer team earned a runner-up finish June 25 with a 4-1 loss against Plymouth at the Minnesota Youth Soccer Association state tournament at Shakopee. The team advanced to the final round after losing 3-2 against Monticello and defeating the Somali Youth team 4-2. To qualify for the playoffs, Albert Lea beat Austin 3-1 and Richfield 5-1.
