Police: Man holed in up room of downtown Minneapolis hotel

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are in a standoff with a man who is holed up in a downtown hotel where a national convention of journalists is being held.

Police spokesman John Elder says the man was holed up in a room Thursday afternoon. He says rooms around him have been evacuated.

Elder says there is no threat to public safety. No other details were released.
