Offender moves from Myrtle

Jason Sokolofsky leaves after less than one week

A high-risk predatory offender has moved out of Myrtle after living there less than a week, according to the Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office.

The community notification meeting originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Myrtle Fire Hall in connection with Jason Sokolofsky’s move has been canceled.

Sokolofsky, 31, a  Level 3 sex offender, is described as being 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He has brown hair, hazel eyes and a medium build.

Sokolofsky moved into Myrtle Aug. 7, according to the Sheriff’s Office. It is unclear where he moved after leaving the small Freeborn County community.

According to a notification fact sheet, Sokolofsky engaged in sexual contact with a 15-year-old female victim. The contact included penetration. Sokolofsky took advantage of the victim’s intoxicated state.

The offender was known to the victim.

This leaves six Level 3 offenders living in Albert Lea: Brooks Daniel Fisher, Tai Lars Stadheim, Jabar Pedro Morarend, Cody Padraic Trott, Joseph Harry Jensen and Lorenzo Torres.
