University of St. Thomas

Logan Tufte graduated from the University of St. Thomas this spring. Tufte graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and family studies.

 

Wartburg College

Two hundred ninety-eight Wartburg students received diplomas during spring commencement on May 24.

Courtney Berkeland of Bricelyn graduated magna cum laude with a degree in business and accounting. She is the daughter of Jeff and Mary Berkeland.

Jordan Manning of Lake Mills graduated Cum Laude with a degree in elementary education. She is the daughter of Cory Manning and Kim Berg.

Micah Peters of Lake Mills graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in elementary education. She is the daughter of the Rev. Wm. Peters and Dr. Anita Eshelman-Peters.

Alyssa Sager of Albert Lea graduated with a degree in biology. She is the daughter of Derek and Julie Sager.

Natasha Willey of Albert Lea graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in writing. She is the daughter of Eric and Missy Willey.

Another 41 students are expected to graduate this month. Thirty-six members of the class graduated in December.

Wartburg, a four-year liberal arts college internationally recognized for community engagement, enrolls 1,661 students. Wartburg is affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and named after the castle in Germany where Martin Luther took refuge disguised as a knight during the stormy days of the Reformation while translating the Bible from Greek into German.

 

University of Iowa

Two local students received degrees from the University of Iowa at the end of the spring semester. About 5,100 students received degrees.

Michael Tiedman of Lake Mills received a MHA- health management and policy degree.

Ashley Petersen of Albert Lea received a BSE- biomedical engineering degree.

 

Wheaton College

Andrew Kozelsky and Corbin Schulz, both of Albert Lea, were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2015 semester at Wheaton College.

To earn Dean’s List honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

Wheaton College is a coeducational Christian liberal arts college noted for its rigorous academics, integration of faith and learning and consistent ranking among the top liberal arts colleges in the country.
