Frances Wallace, 1918-2015

Frances M. Wallace “Fran” passed away at the home of her daughter in Medford, Oregon, surrounded by her family on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015. She was born in Geneva, to Laurits and Pauline Nelsen Larsen on Sept. 28, 1918. Fran attended Geneva Elementary School and Albert Lea High School, graduating in the class of 1936. She married Bruce Wallace in 1941. They were married for 66 years before Bruce’s passing on Dec. 16, 2007.
Fran was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Albert Lea, a lifelong member of Naeve Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and a charter member of the Does.
Bruce and Fran made their home in Albert Lea for many years where Bruce was president and owner of Wallace’s Department Stores. When they retired they moved to Lake San Marcos, California, where they lived for 20 years. They moved to Anna Maria Creekside, a retirement community in Medford in 2003.
Fran is survived by son, Robert “Bob” (Catherine) of Fairmont and daughter Kay (Dennis) Lair of Medford; three grandchildren, Kevin (Jen) Lair of Bend, Oregon, Kristin (Erik) Peterson of Medford and Debra Wallace of Santa Cruz, California; and her mother, Julie Wallace, of San Marcos. In addition, she is survived by four great-grandchildren, Kevin and Jen’s sons, Ethan and Jonah, and Kristin and Erik’s sons, Lucas and Bennett.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers and a sister.
The family requests no memorials, just a kind thought when thinking of Fran.
There will be a private family internment.
