CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis. — A defrocked priest imprisoned in Minnesota for sexually abusing two young brothers will begin a Wisconsin sentence in 2016 for abusing a third sibling in 2011.
Fifty-year-old Curtis Wehmeyer pleaded guilty in Chippewa County Circuit Court to sexually assaulting a teenager and was sentenced Friday to three years behind bars and three years of supervision. Prosecutors said Wehmeyer gave the 18-year-old alcohol and marijuana on a camping trip to Brunet Island State Park and assaulted him.
In the Minnesota case, Wehmeyer brought the teen’s two younger brothers, ages 12 and 14, to his camper in 2010, molesting one boy and exposed himself to the other. The camper was parked outside Blessed Sacrament Church in St. Paul.
