Albert Lea swim team sets 4 records at Austin

In the Albert Lea girls’ swimming team’s opener, the Tigers won nine of 12 events and set four records Friday during a 98-83 victory at Austin.

Lindsey Horejsi set an Albert Lea school record and Austin pool record with a time of 23.43 in the 50-yard freestyle, and Ahnika Jensen took second in the event with a time of 25.73.

Horejsi and Jensen were also members of the 200 medley relay team that set an Austin pool record with a time of 1:48.46. Anna Andersen and Emily Taylor swam the other two legs of the relay.

In the 100 breaststroke, Horejsi took first place with a time of 1:01.19 to set an Austin pool record.

Andersen won the 200 individual medley in 2:23.98 and the 100 freestyle with a time of 54.40 seconds.

Sara Rasmussen took first place in the 200 freestyle in 2:11.88, and Taylor won the 100 backstroke in 1:05.33.

The Tigers’ 200 freestyle relay team of Jensen, Haley Simon, Samantha Nielsen and Horejsi took first place with a time of 1:45.28.

Next, Albert Lea will host Winona at 6 p.m. Thursday.
