Roundtable to gather in Faribault

The Cannon Valley Civil War Roundtable will have a meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 at Faribault Senior Center, 19 W. Division St. in Faribault. There will be questions and answers with decaf coffee and desserts after the presentation.

Before the meeting there will be a dinner kicking off the 11th year of the roundtable.

The presenter for the evening is Dale Blanshan of Rochester. Blanshan is a retired minister, attorney and educator who enjoys giving musical and historical programs.

Blanshan has appeared before thousands of residents and patrons in over 300 libraries, schools, senior housing sites and historical societies in Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota and Wisconsin.

The meeting will include a sing-a-long. Songs to be sung include “Dixie,” “Yellow Roses of Texas,” “Goober Peas,” “When Johnny Comes Marching Home,” “Jesus Loves Me” and more songs of the Civil War Era.

The meeting is free and open to the public.
