Northwood residents injured in 2 crashes

Three Northwood people were injured in separate crashes in the last two days.
The first crash took place in Waseca Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Minnesota Highway 13 and Highway 14.
Rochelle S. Rognes, 22, of Northwood received injuries deemed not life-threatening. She was not transported to the hospital.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Rognes was the driver of a 2009 Nissan Murano and was reportedly heading northbound on Highway 13, approaching the intersection of Highway 14.
A Dodge Caravan, driven by a 15-year-old girl from Waseca, reportedly attempted to make a left turn to go east on Highway 14.
The vehicles collided in the northbound lanes of Highway 13.
The 15-year-old female reportedly suffered no apparent injury. Jackson B. Cline, 16, of Owatonna, a passenger in the Dodge Caravan, was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Waseca. His condition wasn’t documented. Chris A. Rivas, 19, of Waseca, another passenger in the Dodge Caravan, reportedly suffered no injuries.
The Waseca Fire Department, Waseca Police Department, Waseca County Sheriff, North Ambulance and MnDOT assisted on scene.
The second crash took place Thursday afternoon after a car struck a motorcycle at the intersection of Worth County Road 105 and Interstate 35, near Diamond Jo Casino.
A 2008 Chevrolet HHR, driven by Charlotte Herzog of Ankeny, Iowa, was reportedly stopped on the shoulder of County Road 105, just east of Interstate 35.
A 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Mary Kalvig of Northwood, reportedly approached the Chevrolet when Herzog reportedly turned the blinker on to the right and then to the left. The motorcycle reportedly continued on the roadway to the east when the Chevrolet pulled into the road and struck the motorcycle.
Kalvig was transported to Mercy Hospital in Mason City with unknown injuries.
The passenger of the motorcycle, 17-year-old Brandon Knutson, also of Northwood, was injured, but not hospitalized.
Assisting agencies included the Iowa State Patrol, Mason City Fire Department, Worth County Sheriff’s Office and Northwood Fire Department.
