Lawrence Schrader, 1928-2015

Lawrence Harold “Skinny” Schrader, 87, of Easton died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Easton. The Rev. William Sabol will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Interment will be in St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery.
Lawrence was born Jan. 24, 1928, in Barber Township, Faribault County, the son of Roy and Emma (Hefner) Schrader. He was united in marriage to Ramona Skov on June 29, 1946, in Alden. Lawrence held many jobs throughout his youth. He farmed for 60 years and served on the Easton Elevator Board. He was a trustee and faithful member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Easton. Lawrence loved travel and woodworking. He enjoyed bowling, going to the casino and watching his grandchildren play sports. Lawrence also enjoyed his morning coffee time with the guys. He was a true farmer till the end.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Ramona Schrader, of Wells; children Jim “Skinny” (Diana) Schrader of Missouri, Judy Arends of Colorado, Jonelle Ingrebretson of Texas, Joyce (David) Martin of Easton and Jackie (Bryon) Voigt of Wells; grandchildren Aaron, Elisa and Ben (Jen) Schrader, Heather Kunce, Tiffany Arends, Ryan Ingrebretson, Dru Martin, Heather (Jay) Coleman and Steven and Allie Voigt; great-grandchildren Daylyn and Caldyn Huper, Sierra Bouknight, Haley Kunce, Vanessa Arends and Axel and Jaycie; siblings Yvonne Walker of Wells, Arnold (Marlene) Schrader of Wells, Ronald Schrader of Maine, Sandra (Mike) Hall of Eden Prarie and Mary (Greg) Alger of Wells; brother-in-law, James Hassing, of Wells; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter; brother, Douglas Lembke; sister, Florence Hassing; granddaughters Gretchen Arends and Melissa Huper; son-in-law, John Arends; and brothers and sisters-in-law Deanna Skov, Sandy Schrader, Kenneth Walker and Orland Schmidt.
