A free program, “Preventing Diabetes — Lessons from Research,” has been rescheduled for 6 p.m. instead of 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at the Freeborn County Historical Museum, 1031 Bridge Ave. in Albert Lea.

Sumit Bhagra, an endocrinologist at Mayo Clinic Health System, will summarize findings from the diabetes prevention program and discuss steps to prevent or delay the occurrence of type 2 diabetes — typically called adult-onset diabetes, according to a press release.

Those interested in attending are asked to register to ensure adequate seating and handout availability by calling Mayo Clinic Health System’s Patient Education Center at 507-379-2046.
