The Arc of Mower County along with the Mower County Collaborative and The Arc of Freeborn County, are bringing the Autism Society of Minnesota’s Life with Autism series to Austin.

AuSM’s Life with Autism series, formerly the AuSM Discovery series, offers parents, family members, relatives and caregivers of individuals with autism information and age-focused strategies through hope-filled, engaging classes led by autism experts and parent speakers. The Life with Autism series also includes an intro into autism class for those who want to obtain a basic understanding of the neurological developmental disorder.

According to a press release, life with autism class participants come away with practical strategies and suggestions to help guide their journey through the age-specific stages of life.

There is no cost to attend any workshop and all the worshops will be at The Arc of Mower County, 401 Second Ave. NE in Austin.

Workshops are autism 101 from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 5; positive beginnings, newly diagnosed from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 5; Autism in adolescence from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 19; and autism in adulthood from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 19.
