Albert Lea’s Horejsi sets pool records at Red Wing

The Albert Lea girls’ swimming team won 10 of 12 events, and Lindsey Horejsi set two pool records during the Tigers’ 97-93 win Thursday at Red Wing.

Horejsi set records in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:06.45 and the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.94. She also swam a leg of the 200 freestyle and medley relays that took first place.

Albert Lea swept the relays. The team of Horejsi, Anna Andersen, Ahnika Jensen and Emily Taylor won the 200 medley relay in 1:50.77. The same group won the 200 freestyle relay, and Haley Simon, Sara Rasmussen, Hannah Schwemmler and Bailey Sandon won the 400 freestyle relay.

Along with Horejsi, Anna Andersen also swept her events. To go with her relay wins, Andersen won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.13 seconds and the 100 freestyle in 55.07 seconds.

Jensen, Sandon and Rasmussen each won one individual event: Jensen finished first in the 100 butterfly in 1:04.61; Sandon in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.60; and Rasmussen in the 200 freestyle in 2:12.21.

Next, Albert Lea will compete at 7 p.m. Thursday at Northfield.
