According to a press release, the city of Albert Lea has hired a geotechnical engineering firm to perform soil borings to aid in the design of construction projects scheduled for the 2016 construction year. The geotechnical firm will perform the borings the week of Sept. 28 through Oct. 2.

According to a press release, these areas include all or portions of Park Avenue, Mariners Lane, Harriet Lane, Grace Street, Lake Avenue, Edgewater Drive and Lake Chapeau Drive. While they are working, the roads will be reduced to one lane around the boring equipment.

Southbound traffic on Lake Chapeau Drive will be rerouted to Trunk Highway 13 via Sunset Street while they are working. Northbound traffic will remain unaffected.
