Marlin Petersen, 1943-2015

Marlin “Pete” Petersen, 72, of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015.

Pete was born  March 1, 1943, in Albert Lea, to Leslie and Anna (Boyer) Petersen. He attended school in Albert Lea up to the ninth grade when his family moved to Kasson. He graduated from Kasson-Mantorville High School in 1961 and later graduated from Winona State College.

Pete was an avid sportsman and in his later years was especially fond of golf. He made several appearances in the Shortstop Golf Tournament which takes place over Labor Day weekend in Albert Lea.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Anna Peterson; brother, Daniel Michael Petersen; and niece, Lisa Schwenke.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda; sons Troy Petersen of Highlands Ranch and Chad (Jessica) Petersen of Highlands Ranch and their three children, Cole, Drew and Bryn. He is also survived by his three siblings, Gary “Gar” (Cheri) Petersen of Albert Lea, Mary (Kim) Schwenke of Prior Lake and Bob (Carol) Petersen of Mantorville; sister-in-law, Joy Barclay of Bemidji; and many nieces and nephews.
