MINNEAPOLIS — A Twin Cities area hearing aid company is asking a judge to dismiss a lawsuit by one of six former executives who claims he was wrongfully fired.

Starkey Laboratories, of Eden Prairie, has filed a petition in Hennepin County District Court seeking the dismissal. Former Starkey vice president Keith Guggenberger claims in his lawsuit that the six executive firings were a retaliatory move by the CEO whose grandson was not promoted. Also the former president was making plans to start a new company after his employment contract with Starkey ended.

According to a press release, Guggenberger claims he’s owed nearly $11 million in wages and benefits because of his 13-year employment contract. Starkey attorneys said Guggenberger’s damage claim lacks “specificity.”
