Last week, I got some fantastic news. I was notified that I am becoming the newest leader of the Rising Tide Society’s nationwide networking program, called TuesdaysTogether.

The Rising Tide Society is a group of creative entrepreneurs whose mission statement is “Educating and empowering creatives to thrive in the spirit of community over competition.” When I first stumbled upon this group, I knew I wanted to get involved somehow. TuesdaysTogether was an idea born from this group. Once a month, leaders across the nation (and internationally, too) host a meetup at places such as a local coffee shop. A topic will be discussed each month which relates to being an entrepreneur.

These meetups reminded me of the ALEAP events here in town. So, I looked to see where the closest one was to me. In July, it was in Steven’s Point, Wisconsin. Then, I found out I could apply to be a leader for TuesdayTogether meetups.

I thought to myself, this is the perfect thing for Albert Lea. I have a lot of friends who are also photographers, and we’ve all discussed how it should be more of an idea supporting each other as business owners, rather than seeing each other as only competition.

Meetups will happen on the second Tuesday of the month. The time and location are to be determined, based on what works best for the members of the group. I could not be more excited to be getting this program started in Albert Lea. I hope it helps to flourish our entrepreneurial community and truly encourage that idea of “community over competition.”
