Firefighters battle warehouse fire, roof collapses

LITTLE CANADA — Officials said a roof collapse made fighting a fire at a commercial building in a Twin Cities suburb difficult.

A fire broke out following an explosion at the warehouse in Little Canada Thursday night. Fire Chief Don Smiley said the steel roof collapsed quickly as firefighters doused it with foam spray — so they weren’t able to enter the structure.

It took several hours to bring the fire under control. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
