MOORHEAD — Two junior hockey players will serve jail time after pleading guilty to making a sex video with a teenage girl in Moorhead.
Thomas Carey and Brandon Smith each pleaded guilty Tuesday to three felony charges.
A plea agreement calls for Carey and Smith to spend 30 days in jail, have no contact with the victim, undergo a sex offender evaluation and pay $2,000 in court costs. According to a press release, the men will be on supervised probation for 10 years, but will not be required to register as sex offenders.
Carey and Smith were accused of filming a sex video with a 15-year-old girl in a Moorhead hotel last year when they were both 19. Both players later were suspended indefinitely from the U.S. Hockey League’s Lincoln Stars.
