1 transported after crash
A woman was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin Thursday night after a rollover crash in eastern Freeborn County.
April Marie O’Connor, 39, lost control of the vehicle she was driving and ended up going into a ditch on 305th Street, a quarter mile east of 880th Avenue on the north side of the road, according to Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Keith Bolinger. The steepness of the ditch reportedly caused the vehicle to roll after it entered the ditch.
O’Connor’s injury was described as not life-threatening. She was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The crash was reported at 10:43 p.m.
Bolinger described the road as being completely covered with ice at the time of the crash.
2 arrested on apprehension and detention orders
Albert Lea police arrested Eddie Joe Luna II, 33, on an apprehension and detention order at 2:29 p.m. Thursday at 113 Thompson Lane.
Police arrested Jon Paul Johnson, 47, on an apprehension and detention order at 12:13 p.m. Friday at 134 W. William St.
1 arrested for DWI
Police arrested Alexia Janette Valdez, 22, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated, no insurance and no Minnesota driver’s license at 1:43 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of Fountain Street and Vine Avenue. Her vehicle was reportedly towed.
Items reported stolen
A shovel was reported stolen at 4:09 p.m. Thursday at 1009 St. Peter Ave. The shovel was described as having a yellow handle and was reportedly taken from the front porch Wednesday night. No suspects were reported.
A package was reported stolen from a doorstep at 11:02 a.m. Saturday at 900 Frank Ave. The package was reportedly stolen a week before it was reported.
A silver Toyota van reportedly left without paying for $20.01 of gas at 2:46 p.m. Sunday at 309 E. Main St. in Clarks Grove. The vehicle reportedly headed south on Interstate 35.
Bullet found
A small caliber bullet was reportedly found lodged in a front step at 7:18 p.m. Saturday at 204 Giles Place. The bullet was collected and photographed. The bullet was reportedly lodged in the wooden front step within the last week, said Albert Lea Police Department Lt. Darren Hanson.
Front door damaged
A front door was reported damaged at 10:37 p.m. Sunday at 210 E. Lake St. in Emmons. Nothing was reported missing.
Vehicle fire
A vehicle fire was reported at 11:47 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 35, a mile north of the Clarks Grove and Hollandale exit.
