Brauer named scout executive

The Twin Valley Council Boy Scouts of America recently announced the selection of Raymond W. Brauer as scout executive, effective Dec. 1.

Brauer began his scouting career as district executive, senior district executive and director of support services for the Great Rivers Council in Columbia, Missouri. He moved on to become a district director and later field director with the Crossroads of America Council in Indianapolis. He was promoted to director of field service of the Clinton Valley Council and Great Lakes Council in Pontiac, Michigan, and Detroit and then became director of field service of the Heart of America Council in Kansas City, Missouri.

“I look forward to serving this great Scouting council in this important role, Bauer said. “I have the honor of joining the Twin Valley Council’s staff and volunteers in delivering quality Scouting experiences to the young people of the communities we serve.”

The Twin Valley Council serves over 2,600 scouts in 15 counties in south central Minnesota. The Twin Valley Council, headquartered in Mankato, has made national recognition with the BSA organization recently by achieving gold-level status in the BSA’s “Journey to Excellence,” noting the council as being in the top 10 percent in the nation.

The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations.
