Man found dead after standoff

WINDOM — Authorities said a man was found dead after a police standoff in southwestern Minnesota.
The Cottonwood County Sheriff’s Office said officers were called Monday morning to a home in Windom, and heard shouting coming from inside the house.
Officers were trying to enter the house when they heard shots fired from inside. According to reports two rounds hit a police car.
Police retreated, formed a perimeter around the house and called for help. A tactical team entered the house about four hours later and found a 48-year-old man dead and a 52-year-old woman injured.
