Carol Ann (Werner) Herme, 68, of Wells died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester. A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Wells Community Center. Burial will be at Rice Lake Cemetery at a later date.

Carol Ann was born Nov. 25, 1947, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Alvin and Adeline (Passer) Werner. She graduated from Wells-Easton High School in 1965. She was united in marriage to Wayne Herme on Jan. 28, 1966. Carol enjoyed playing cards and other games and going to the casino. She liked listening to old-time country music. She loved to spend time with her family and friends.

Carol is survived by her children Leonard (Carol) of Wells and Cindy Flatness of Lake Mills; siblings Robert (Betty) Werner, Patsy Knutson and Danny (Judy) Werner, all of Wells: grandchildren Kristine (Matthew) Jurgena, James Flatness (special friend, Jessica Adams), Rebecca (Manuel) Montoya and Jason (Janica) Edwards; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; son-in-law, Daniel Flatness; and brother-in-law, Kenny Knutson.
